Utah: My Sisters June 13-17

For Alicia’s birthday, she got a flight out to Utah to visit with Carly and I (and her in-laws and friends, but MOSTLY us). I drove all the way to Orem, Utah on my own (10 hour drive) without any kind of GPS and didn’t get lost! Remember the news story about the NASA employee who drove across the country in a diaper? I related to that woman more than ever when I made my drive and didn’t stop to eat, drink, or go to the bathroom. To clarify, there weren’t any diapers involved; I was just so focused on getting there that my body forgot its need to use the restroom.

The drive was so worth it! Alicia and I got to babysit Sadie and Elise in the mornings. They were so fun. We went to the park one day with them. We also went to the Lindon pool with Carly one afternoon, which was more akin to a waterpark. Those girls are so cute, and it was so hard to leave them at the end of the weekend.

I loved talking (and analyzing baby clothes) with Alicia and Carly. In fact, we ended up sitting on the floor of Kohl's for about a half hour analyzing. I only wish Meredith and Carrie could have been there! We need another Girls' Weekend! Anyway...

Carly and I threw a baby shower for Alicia and her baby girl. We had family from both sides in the area and a few of Alicia’s friends come too. For an activity we decorated onesies by cutting fabric into different patterns and ironing them on. I mostly did cooking, and Carly did 100% of the decorating. Alicia is such a cute pregnant lady and it was so fun to throw a party with Carly.

I was really sad to say goodbye to my sisters-best friend hybrids and adorable nieces and drive the 10 hours back to the blistering heat of Arizona.
